Moderate breezes from S.W & clear, pleasant weather 

at 4 AM. Gunboats Stepping Stones & Island Belle got under way & proceeded

Wind S.W & pleasant.  9.30 St[eame]r Coeur  De Leone[1] with Senior Officer on

board, proceeded up river

Gentle breeze from the N[orthwar]d & squally

4 to 6 P.M

Wind light & variable.  ending at North with pleasant weather                                                                                                                                              William Flye

 

 

 

 

6 to 8 P.M

Wind N. fresh breeze & fine weather.  sick man from Tug Dragon

came on board for treatment.  Engineer Newton was ordered on a survey

to try Dragons boilers

Wind & weather same.  At 8.30 P.M a rocket was seen in the

direction of Richmond
