With Light airs from S & cloudy weather & mist at intervals. 

Lights of fires in the S.W & N.E have been visible during the watch                                                                                                                                               William Flye

Light airs & cloudy.  4.30 Galena got underweigh & went down the river                                                                                                                           E.V. Gager



From 8 to Meridian

Wind & weather same.  at 8.30 got under weigh & proceeded down the river.  At 11 came to anchor at Turkey Island Bend

Clear & pleasant weather wind S.W.

Wind & weather same.  5.30 Southfield came up the river.  5.45 saw a

jet of smoke in N.E direction. supposed to be caused by exploding powder

Light winds & variable.  6.30 St[eame]r Southfield arrived from below                                                                                                                                           E.V. Gager



From 8 to Midnight

Wind S.W & cloudy. At 9. Port Royal went down the river
