Commences & till 4 A.M

With light airs from the S.W& pleasant weather.   At 1 A. M the C.De Lion

arrived from Hampton Roads

Wind & weather same.  heavy firing toward Richmond between 5 & 6 AM                                                                                                                                    E.V. Gager

Wind S.W & pleasant.  Thermometer stood 165 in galley at 12 M

Island Belle went up the river

Meridian to 4 P.M

Fine & pleasant weather light breeze from the S.W. at 2 A flag of truce was sent by the enemy and communicated with by the flag ship.  Aroostook went down the river.

Metamora st[eame]r came up with flag of truce and anchored

Wind & weather same. the vessel was visited by two officers of the Danish Navy Capt [?] & Lieut Schorbergan
