Calm & weather clear

From 4 to 8 AM

Light airs from the N.W & clear weather.  At 6 the

coal schooner came alongside                                                                                                                                                                                                             William Flye

 

 

From 8 to Meridian

Light airs from the N.W & fine weather. finished coaling

at 11 AM.  took in twenty tons. Currituck came up from below and anchored

near us. 11.30 Galena made signall 959.  12. got underweigh and proceeded

up the river. Anthony Connoly Sea[man] was reported for Insolence to an officer                                                                                                                          E V Gager for L.N.S

 

 

From Meridian to 4 PM

Wind & weather same.  proceeding up the river followed

by the Maratanza & Galena. 3 turned & proceeded down.hove to off Hill Carter

place

Steaming down the river in company with the Galena

& Maratanza. Wind N & W[estwar]d & weather clear

Wind & weather same.  still under weigh

Light airs S.W & fine weather.  At 8.20 anchored off Berkely                                                                                                                                             E.V. Gager by L.N.S.
