Wind N & E[astwar]d weather clear

Moderate breezes from the east & pleasant weather. 

The Rebels opened fire upon the Southfield from City P[oin]t

which she returned.  At 6.30 the Galena got under weigh and

proceeded up to City P[oin]t. & fired several shots at the enemy.  At 7 the

Genesee came up the river
