Moderate breeze from the N.E & clear weather

From 4 to 8

Wind N.E & pleasant.  At 7.30 a flag of truce

passed down with returned union officers on board                                                                                                                                                                          Louis Stodder

 

 

From 8 to Meridian

Light breeze from the N.E & fine pleasant weather 

At 8.15 the Maratanza came up the river.  Commander T.H Stevens came

on board.  Lieut Com’dr W.N. Jeffers having been detached disrated the petty

officers & turned the command over to Cap’n Stevens who continued

their respective rates with the exception of David Cuddiback Cap’n Steward.

At 10 the Gunboats commenced shelling the right bank of the river St[eame]r Genessee got aground                                                                                                                                                                                                                                            Geo.
