From Midnight to 4 AM foggy, wind light and variable

From 4 to 8 A.M. wind variable, weather improving

From 8 AM to Meridian. fine weather, calm.  At 11 A.M.

the tug boat Young America came alongside, and brought an anchor

buoy — had it placed in Hampton bar in 5 fathoms water

From Meridian to 4 P.M. fine and pleasant weather. light

wind from E.S.E. and hauling to the S.  At 2.30 the tug boat Young America

came alongside and took on shore the shield of the turret.

From 4 to 6 P.M. cloudy, with light rain. A U.S. side wheel

arrived, and anchored near the Flag ship.
