Teachers Workshops
The Mariners’ Museum’s 2010 Summer Teacher Workshops are designed to provide Virginia’s elementary, middle, and high school instructors with new ideas for creating engaging and stimulating lesson plans for their students.
Each day-long interactive session will focus on essential historical facts that the teacher can take back to the classroom to enhance student learning and comprehension of a variety of SOL-correlated topics.
Topics include:
- The Battle of Hampton Roads
- The Age of Exploration
- Slavery and the Transatlantic Slave Trade
Workshops can be taken for recertification points. The fee for each workshop is $40 per person; however, teachers may register for all three sessions at a discounted rate of $100. For more information, contact Wisteria Perry at wperry@MarinersMuseum.org or call (757) 591-7744.
NOTE: Workshops will be offered again August 2-4, 2010. Visit Teachers Workshops for more information.
