The Battle of Hampton Roads Juried Youth Art Exhibition

In January of 1863, Grenville Weeks, former surgeon of the USS Monitor wrote, ‘so long as we remain a people, so long will the work of the Monitor be remembered, and her story told to our children’s children.’ In that spirit, and in commemoration of the 148th anniversary of the Battle of Hampton Roads between the USS Monitor and the CSS Virginia, The Mariners’ Museum, in partnership with NOAA’s Monitor National Marine Sanctuary presents a juried youth art competition with selections by student artists in three age categories.
