Vince and Dottie Scott, not unlike Winnifred and August Crabtree, were a formidable team. They worked together as docents for many years, faithfully contributing their talents to the Museum while leading popular Sunday tours of the galleries with a particular emphasis on the Crabtree collection.

Since Dottie's passing, Vince has continued to serve as a valued Museum volunteer. He has also worked tirelessly on this beautiful and informative book, an extraordinary publication, which we are pleased to present in hardcover today.

THE MINIATURE SHIPS OF
August & Winnifred Crabtree

The Museum is proud to hold this fabulous collection of miniatures, which many have called the Museum's "jewel in the crown," and we are grateful to Vince for sharing his insight into the world of these gifted artists: the Crabtrees.

Biography
As the English poet T.S. Eliot wrote, “The sea is all about us.” The miniature ships of August and Winnifred Crabtree—the matchless legacy of two uncompromising artists— eloquently tell the story of humankind’s relationship with the sea.
