Activity Three Students: Create a Quadrant

Instructions for Students

Materials:

• Quadrant Pattern (click to download a pdf file)
• Cardboard, plywood or styrofoam cut into 1/4 of a circle at least 6" on a side
• String
• Weight (sinker, washer, large bead or paper clip will do)
• 2 pushpins
• Glue

Directions:

• Cut out the pattern copy.
• Trace on wood, styrofoam, or cardboard and cut it out.
• Glue pattern to backing.
• Drill or poke hole through star.
• Run string through hole and tie on both sides.
• Tie weight to string so it hangs below the edge of the instrument.
