Anansi and other African Tales
Through the ages, Africans have used storytelling to teach life lessons, entertain, and explain the workings of the world. In this entertaining and educational program, students will listen to stories and learn how African storytellers incorporated music to help tell their tales. They will then become part of the storytelling by using their own handmade musical instruments as they discover how stories crossed the Atlantic to the Americas.
Kindergarden through third grade

TALES ACROSS TWO SEAS
Stories abound in every culture. They are used to explain the world, to teach lessons, and to preserve history. When Christopher Columbus and the early explorers first landed in the New World, they began a cultural exchange whose influence was felt the world over. The tradition of storytelling was not beyond this influence.
Through this interactive program of storytelling and music, students will explore the similarities and differences within the converging European, African and Native cultures around the world.
Kindergarden through twelfth grade
