An event every week that begins at 1:00pm on Saturday, repeating until June 16, 2018
Frogs and toads serve an important role as essential indicators of environmental health in wetland ecosystems. The Mariners’ Museum and Park is partnering with the Virginia Living Museum’s Peninsula Chapter of FrogWatch USA to provide opportunities for individuals and groups to learn about the wetlands of their community through the calls of local frogs and toads.
This FrogWatch Training Program is split up in two separate sessions, where volunteers of any background will be given information to identify the frog or toad species and equipped with tools to participate in field conservation.
In order to become certified as a FrogWatch volunteer, participants must attend both sessions, as well as pass two assessments at the end of the session.
These free programs will be held at The Mariners’ Museum and Park, and food and beverages will be provided for guests.Register Online Here
