Online Exhibition

Stationary Voyages: the Boat in Photograph allowed, for the first time, access to the museum’s renowned small craft collection through the camera lenses of contemporary photographers. Each photographer was encouraged to interpret the boat almost any way their imaginations led them. Through the resulting images, the boats transcended the employments for which they were designed, into gorgeous, visceral objects of art. This very popular exhibition from our galleries has been transformed and given a new life as a virtual exhibition.
Boats as Culture

Each boat is more than just a simple vessel—it is a product of all the accumulated knowledge available at the time of its creation as well as the builder's own ideas. » Learn More
