War of 1812 Exhibition

The Enemy's in Sight
Although the War of 1812
was waged on land, it was the victories at sea that proved the U.S. Navy could beat the best.

NOW OPEN!
Our new exhibition will present a narrative of the War of 1812 through a "tongue-in-cheek" timeline highlighting four significant naval themes of the War of 1812, including: Vengeance, One-on-One ship battles, Hard Luck and a Hero. There will be graphic representation showing the wide-ranging naval battles from the war, the noteworthy successes, and even a few ignoble defeats of an outnumbered United States Navy.

Exhibition is included with general admission.

• Perry’s Victory: The Battle of Lake Erie, 10 Sept 1813. Big deal because it was the first time in history an entire Royal Navy squadron had surrendered.
• Brilliant Naval Victory: The longboats from USS Constitution pull away from the burning hulk of HMS Guerriere.
