Hampton Roads Port of Embarkation Women’s Army Corps
From the museum's Hampton Roads Port of Embarkation collection of more than 15,000 negatives and photographs, student Kaitlyn Ridler surveyed, scanned, and cataloged a portion depicting women in the US Army. 24 of those images are available online, providing a glimpse into how WWII challenged society’s previously accepted notions of a woman's place.
