Hundreds of years of human activity have resulted in the deterioration of the Chesapeake Bay’s condition, but human intervention can help restore the Bay for all who live in and around it. Mouse over the push-pins on the map below to learn more about specific clean-up projects that are occurring throughout the Chesapeake Bay Watershed.
If your group participates in a clean-up anywhere in the Bay’s watershed, we would love to see the results of your efforts. To learn how to separate the trash you pick up, download the Recyclable/Non-recyclable Items sheet. Use the Data Sheet for Waterway Cleanup to track the amount of trash and recyclables you pick up and then submit that information to distancelearning@MarinersMuseum.org for inclusion in this interactive map. We encourage the submission of pictures as well.
