Pirates: Edward England
Issued 1987
Edward England
Edward England was a sailor on a vessel captured by pirates in 1717. The life of a mariner was hard and the promise of wealth through piracy convinced England to join the crew that captured him. Unfortunately for England, Woodes Rogers came to the Caribbean in 1718 to hunt down pirates. To escape Rogers, England sailed to the Indian Ocean. After England showed mercy to the captain and crew of a ship that had resisted fiercely, resulting in the deaths of several pirates, his own crew rebelled against him and left him marooned on a small island.
