Gun Carriage Activities

Conservators are working to disassemble the port gun carriage recovered from Monitor's gun turret. This carriage is constructed of wrought iron, copper alloy, and wood components. Conservators are utilizing a variety of standard and custom-fabricated tools to assist with the disassembly process. This activity will continue for the next few weeks.
