Captain Jack Molan has spent most of his life on the Bering and Arctic Seas, beginning his fishing career as a greenhorn deckhand aboard the Columbia, a 123-foot fishing vessel. After becoming captain in 1987, Molan ran the Columbia for almost 30 years, fishing for king crab year-round in brutal winters and long summers. Later, he became captain of the research vessel Norseman II on the Arctic Sea, and has recently spent summers working aboard the Aleutian Ballad and Cornelia Maria from the famous television show, “Deadliest Catch.”
Join us for this special presentation of Molan’s new book, You Can’t Make This Stuff Up. During this book reading and signing, hear about Molan’s adventures and lessons learned after spending 30 years on the treacherous northern seas, and see some of his remarkable photographs of Alaskan wildlife, ships, and the Arctic seascape.
