About the presentation:
The invasion of Kentucky, a border state, was an effort by generals Braxton Bragg and Edmund Kirby Smith to gather supplies and find recruits and turn Kentucky into a Confederate state. Union General Don Carlos Buell failed to block Bragg’s advance, nor did he pursue the Confederate army as it withdrew to Tennessee following the battles of Richmond and Perryville. This campaign is yet another case of poor leadership from both Bragg and Buell.
