Join The Mariners’ Museum and Park from 10:30 AM to Noon, as one of the thousands of volunteers across Virginia who give of their time on the first Saturday in June every year to pick up trash from beaches, rivers, streams, and parks on Clean the Bay Day.
In conjunction with the Chesapeake Bay Foundation, the Museum’s Park is one of the many cleanup sites around Hampton Roads for the CBF’s annual shoreline and stream cleanup event. This is a great opportunity for Members and their families, as well as Museum guests, to get out in The Mariners’ Park and help clean the surrounding area.
Since 1989, Clean the Bay Day has engaged almost 150,000 volunteers who have removed more than 6.3 million pounds of debris from more than 6,940 miles of shoreline.
Participants interested in volunteering should register on the Chesapeake Bay Foundation’s website.
