“Fish and Swimmers, Iron Man Triathlon”, by Wayne Levin

Free Photography Workshop
Dates: October 17, October 31, November 7

Work with professional photographers to capture images of the waterways that shape our community. The day will begin at Downing-Gross Cultural Arts Center in downtown Newport News, where a photography expert will teach some of the techniques that professional artists use when photographing on or near the water. In the afternoon, participants will head out into our community, taking pictures on location at Newport News’ many waterfront sites, and visiting The Mariners’ Museum’s new photography exhibit, Liquid Light.

Photographs from this workshop will be featured in a brand new exhibition at the Downing-Gross Cultural Arts Center in November.

Please bring lunch with you. Cameras will be provided for participants who need them, but please bring your own if you have one.

For more information or to register, please call Mark Arduini at (757) 591-7749.

This workshop is offered in conjunction with The Mariners’ Museum exhibit Liquid Light: Photography Beneath the Sea. It is hosted by The Mariners’ Museum and Downing-Gross Cultural Arts Center, with support from the Newport News Arts Commission.
