Join us at The Mariners’ Museum to watch a live expedition as The Global Foundation of Ocean Exploration (GFOE) launches its “Valor in the Atlantic Expedition” project to bring the wonders of historic wrecks to life. GFOE will be using a remotely operated vehicle (ROV) called Yogi and satellite capability to explore shipwrecks within and surrounding the Monitor National Marine Sanctuary (MNMS), specifically the wreck site of World War II tanker E.M. Clark.
John V. Quarstein, director emeritus of the USS Monitor Center, will join via phone to talk about WW II off the Virginia or North Carolina coasts.
“Valor in the Atlantic” will investigate historic shipwrecks from the American Civil War, World War I, and World War II’s Battle of the Atlantic. For more information about this incredible project, view this video: https://engineeringfordiscovery.org/valor-in-the-atlantic/
