In 1937, Archer Huntington met a community need in founding The Mariners’ Museum and Park in Newport News, Virginia – a city that was built to support the local shipbuilding industry. Steeped in a culture teeming with maritime connections, The Mariners’ Museum and Park strives to connect visitors to the water, because through the water, we are all connected to each other.

Whether you are planning a wedding, corporate function, military ceremony or a celebration in the Park, we are here to provide smooth sailing for your event!

Park Events

Our outdoor spaces are the perfect setting for birthdays, anniversaries, family reunions, and any other large gatherings looking for a truly unique experience.

Park Races

We would love to host your next 5K, 10K, or walk! With rolling woodlands and Mariners’ Lake views as your backdrop, our 550-acre Park offers invigorating routes for your racers.

Meet Our Team

Our amazing team consists of two coordinators dedicated to providing a unique and memorable event experience for you and your guests. Riley is our Special Events Coordinator, who works alongside Meg, our Lead Special Events Coordinator. They work together behind the scenes to ensure your event at The Mariners’ is a success! 

What we offer

As a venue space, we provide a variety of locations for your event including our secluded courtyard space, our regal Main Lobby, and our Park spaces located on the scenic James River. We offer a variety of tables and chairs to accommodate your needs. Many of our spaces are A/V equipped with speakers, microphones, projectors and more, making it a perfect space for lectures and corporate meetings.
