Lectures at The Mariners’

At The Mariners’, we are proud to offer a diverse set of lectures that cover a wide range of popular maritime topics. Guests can choose from a variety of program formats for many of our lectures, including in person, virtual, and livestreams.

Evening Lectures

Our established Evening Lectures series offers guests a chance to join us in person or through a livestream. Tickets for in-person guests are $10 per person, and FREE for Members.

Charcuterie plates will be available for purchase in advance at the time of registration. Each guest ticket comes with a single beverage ticket with a cash bar to follow. Tickets for virtual guests are free, and we encourage you to sit back and relax with your favorite beverage.

Civil War Lectures

Our Civil War Lectures series features author and historian John V. Quarstein as he dives into the intriguing maritime history of the Civil War. This long-running series explores the ships, personalities, technologies, and battles that would shape our nation for the next 150 years. Guests can enjoy these lectures in person at the Museum, or through a livestream.

Hampton Roads History Lectures

Our Hampton Roads History Lectures offers guests a look back in history as John V. Quarstein, along with special guest speakers, share significant events about our nation’s history and examine their direct ties to the Hampton Roads region. Guests can enjoy these lectures in person at the Museum, or through a livestream.
