Ms. Tina Morris is a proven leader with extensive operating leadership within global financial and environmental data/analytics businesses, most recently as CEO of FLINTpro, an early-stage climate technology company. Prior to that, Tina spent nearly 20 years at S&P Global leading their analytics business lines and as the COO of the S&P Global Ratings Division. Morris brings a powerful mix of corporate and military backgrounds to the Museum’s Board. She is a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point and served seven years as a Commander in the U.S. Army including, commanding the 25th Military Police in Hawaii. Trustee Morris is also a member of American Corporate Partners which mentors Veterans in transition.

Brian Skinner

Mr. Brian Skinner joined TowneBank in 2007 after 16 years of senior leadership positions with a national bank. He is president and regional banking director for all markets in the state of Virginia and Northeastern North Carolina. Trustee Skinner is responsible for the executive oversight of the specialty banking lines of real estate finance, commercial real estate finance, and automotive dealer finance. He is a graduate of Christopher Newport University. His professional affiliations include Board of Directors of An Achievable Dream, United Way of the Virginia Peninsula, Hampton Roads Economic Development Alliance, and several other organizations.

Dr. McKinley L. Price is a native of Newport News, Virginia. He is the
Immediate past Mayor of the City of Newport News, becoming the first African American to be elected as mayor of Newport News. Trustee Price has received numerous honors and awards from various professional associations. In addition to the commitment he makes to his professional activities and meeting the demands of a successful dental practice, Trustee Price devotes untiring energy and time to the community.

Brad Barnes

Brad Barnes is an experienced talent development and sales leader with experience in the consumer goods and wholesale industries. Currently serving as Senior Director at Ferguson Enterprises, he leads The Ferguson Academy, focusing on aligning learning strategies with business goals. Additionally, Brad’s academic interest have led him to serve as a Professor of Practice at the University of North Carolina’s Kenan-Flagler Business School where he teaches courses on Sales and Leadership. Brad earned a B.A. and a M.E.D. from the University of Virginia, a M.B.A. from the University of Florida, and has completed Executive Education at Harvard University. He is a native of Yorktown, Va. where he is committed to making an impact in the community, by serving as a Board Member on the Hampton Roads Workforce Council, coaching multiple youth football and basketball teams, and moonlighting as Guest Contributor on Hoos Talking Radio Show.

Ms. Jennifer Boykin is the former executive vice president of Huntington Ingalls Industries and president of Newport News Shipbuilding in Newport News, Virginia. Named to this position in 2017, she was the 20th person and the first woman to serve as president of the Newport News shipyard, which was founded in 1886. Trustee Boykin is a native of St. Louis and a graduate of the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy. In the community, she is a graduate of Lead Virginia and Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce leadership program. Boykin is vice chair of Blueprint Virginia and a member of Greater Peninsula NOW, Virginia Business Council, and Reinvent Hampton Roads.

Camille Crofton Cherry

Camille Crofton Cherry serves as Business Development Director for CROFTON, a family-owned marine contractor providing commercial diving, heavy marine construction, and equipment rental services to the Port of Virginia and related industries for over 75 years. Camille joined Crofton in 2010 and has since served in numerous capacities including payroll, project management administration, and organizational development, as well as marketing and communications. She currently serves as a Vice President for the Virginia Maritime Association, is an advisor and past President of the Propeller Club of Norfolk, serves as a commissioner on Portsmouth’s Economic Development Authority, and is a board member on the Portsmouth Partnership. Camille received her bachelor’s degree from George Mason University and an MBA from The College of William & Mary. She has received a Certificate in Family Business Advising from the Family Firm Institute and is a graduate of the Portsmouth Partnership’s Lefcoe Leadership Program and Virginia Maritime Association’s Maritime Leadership Certificate Program. Camille lives in Suffolk, VA with her husband Chad and two children Grey and Carter.

Dr. Stuart Henderson

Dr. Stuart Henderson is the Chief Technology Officer for Subcritical Systems, Inc., a company in Austin, Texas bringing the energy amplifier concept to the US to safely generate electrical power. Prior to joining Subcritical Systems, Inc., he served as the Director of Jefferson Lab from April 2017 to July 2024. He serves as a Governor’s Distinguished CEBAF Professor at Old Dominion University. Dr. Henderson is an internationally recognized expert in particle accelerators. Trustee Henderson has served on advisory and review committees for many of the nation’s accelerator facilities, as well as for major facilities around the world. He also has served on various DOE advisory bodies, including the High Energy Physics Advisory Panel to the Department of Energy and the National Science Foundation.

Marsha Hudgins

Ms. Marsha Hudgins became sole stockholder of Hudgins Contracting in 2011 and was appointed CEO in 2012 following her late husband, Lester L Hudgins, Jr.  Since being appointed CEO of Hudgins Contracting Corporation, she has worked daily to direct the growth and expansion of the company and successfully position it for the future. Trustee Hudgins and Hudgins Contracting Corporation are committed to giving back to the Hampton Roads community through donations of time, talent, and financial support. Currently, Trustee Hudgins sits on the Executive Advisory Council for Strome College of Business at Old Dominion University.

Captain Carolyn Kurtz

Captain Carolyn Kurtz was born and raised in the Kew Gardens neighborhood of Queens, New York. After graduating from the United States Merchant Marine Academy in 1986, she immediately embarked upon a seagoing career. After sailing as 3rd, 2nd, and Chief Mate aboard US flag vessels, she received her USCG Unlimited Master of Oceans license in 1993. In 1995 Carolyn was accepted into the Tampa Bay Pilots Association training program, becoming their first, and to date only, female pilot. During this time she served as co-manager and training coordinator of the Tampa Bay Pilots Association and as Chair of the Florida State Board of Pilot Commissioners. Carolyn served on the US Coast Guard Navigation Safety Advisory Council, eventually becoming Chair until the expiration of the council, and continues to serve on NOAA’s Hydrographic Services Review Panel. She is also a founding member of First 10 Forward, a non-profit founded by USMMA female graduates benefitting girls and women pursuing non-traditional careers.

Since retiring from piloting in 2023, Carolyn works part-time at Maritime Pilots Institute as a manned model ship handling and simulator instructor and serves as a mentor with the Women Offshore Foundation.

As both a professional mariner of almost 40 years and a recreational boater, Carolyn continues to be passionate about all things maritime and hopes that by sharing her experiences and knowledge she can help to strengthen pride in our shared maritime culture and promote a high level of safety and professionalism amongst mariners.

Taylor Lawson

W.M. Jordan

Taylor Lawson has been a team member at W. M. Jordan for 11 years. He began his career as an intern, where he held several roles from development, project management, field operations and estimating. In 2019, Taylor graduated from Virginia Tech and began his full-time career for W. M. Jordan. Since then, he has served in the roles of a project engineer and assistant superintendent on the Ferguson HQ3 Office Building and the Embassy Suites Hotel at the Cavalier Oceanfront Resort. More recently, he has accepted a new role as an Estimator for W. M. Jordan and is pursuing his MBA at the Raymond A. Mason School of Business at William & Mary. Born and raised in Newport News, Taylor is involved in the community where he lives and works. He serves on the board of the Boys & Girls Club of the Virginia Peninsula and is a founding member of their young professional non-profit group, Club Blue. His work with Club Blue has helped raise over $200,000 for the Boys & Girls Club, and he was recognized for this achievement by receiving the Outstanding New Member Award from the Boys & Girls Club in 2023. He has previously served on the board of the First Tee and the Newport News Education Foundation.

Fred Pasquine

Fred Pasquine has over 20 years of experience with both large and small companies in engineering, process improvement, operations, business development, strategic planning, mergers, and acquisitions.  Before joining Fairlead, Fred held the position of Senior Director of Business Operations for General Dynamics NASSCO-Norfolk responsible for all aspects of business development, estimating, planning, engineering, scheduling, supply chain, and procurement.  He has served as Fairlead’s President since 2017, and CEO since July 2025.

Fred has a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Geneva College and a Master of Business Administration from Miami University.  He is a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) and a Certified Six Sigma Black Belt (CSSB) by the American Society of Quality.  He is also a proud alumnus of the CIVIC Leadership Institute class of 2019.

Lindsey Carney Smith, Esq.

Ms. Lindsey Carney Smith has extensive experience as a commercial and residential real estate attorney and business attorney. A graduate of Christopher Newport University (CNU), she serves as the Rector of the CNU Board of Visitors, is chair of the CNU Athletic Advisory Council, is an adjunct professor at CNU in the Pre-Law Program, and advises students. Trustee Carney Smith participates on many Boards, including Habitat for Humanity Peninsula and Greater Williamsburg, United Way of the Virginia Peninsula, and Newport News Green Foundation. She is also a Commissioner on the Peninsula Airport Commission.

Rev. Dr. Kevin Swann

Rev. Dr. Kevin Swann is the Senior Pastor of Ivy Baptist Church in Newport News, Virginia. He is an adjunct professor in the Religious Studies Department at Hampton University. Trustee Rev. Dr. Swann founded Kevin Swann Enterprises, a non faith-based organization that provides services to underprivileged youth and adults in the Southeastern Virginia area.

Clayton Turner

Mr. Clayton Turner is the recent former Associate Administrator of NASA’s Space Technology organization; and former Director of NASA Langley Research Center leading aeronautics, science and exploration innovation. He is a bridge-builder across government, industry, and academia.

Mr. Turner has served at NASA for more than 35 years. He has held several senior roles at NASA Langley, including Chief Engineer, Engineering Director, Associate Center Director, and Deputy Center Director. After graduation from the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) in 1990, Turner began his career with NASA serving as a design engineer with the Lidar In-Space Technology Experiment (LITE) project, where he spearheaded development of the laser aligning, bore-sight limit system. 

Mr. Turner has received many prestigious awards including the National Presidential Rank Award, the NASA Outstanding Leadership Medal, the NASA Exceptional Engineering Achievement Medal, the Paul F. Holloway Non-Aerospace Technology Transfer Award, and RIT’s College of Engineering Distinguished Alumni award. Mr. Turner is an Associate Fellow of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) and is a Trustee at Rochester Institute of Technology serving on the Board of Trustees.

Kari Wilkinson

President of Newport News Shipbuilding

Kari Wilkinson is executive vice president of HII and president of the Newport News Shipbuilding division in Newport News, Virginia. Named to this position in 2025, Ms. Wilkinson has the responsibility to lead, enable and support the more than 26,000 shipbuilders who design, build and maintain nuclear-powered aircraft carriers and nuclear-powered submarines. Newport News Shipbuilding has built and maintained ships for nearly 140 years and is the largest industrial employer in the Commonwealth of Virginia. From 2021-2025, Ms. Wilkinson served as president of Ingalls Shipbuilding, Mississippi’s largest industrial employer, where she led more than 11,000 shipbuilders who design, build, and maintain amphibious ships, destroyers, and cutters for the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Coast Guard. Prior to becoming president, Ms. Wilkinson served in a number of roles during her nearly three decades at Ingalls, including vice president of program management, and positions in Engineering, Program Management and Operations.

Originally from Michigan, Ms. Wilkinson holds a bachelor’s degree in naval architecture and marine engineering from the University of Michigan, and an MBA from Temple University. She believes in serving the community in which she works and lives and was active in Mississippi on boards and executive committees. She has brought this same sense of service with her to Virginia and now serves on the board of trustees for the Mariners’ Museum and Park and the Naval Submarine League board of directors.
