Our talented team of Museum educators are committed to providing an engaging experience that brings SOL-related content to life for your students. Duration: 30 minutes

Ships, sculpture, government, geography, and art help bring Ancient Greece into focus. In this interactive virtual program, students will examine collection objects, make cultural and civic connections, and use a creative design activity to explore how Greek ideas still resonate today.

Discover Greek Vessels

Students will examine unique examples of Greek vessels from The Mariners’ Collection.

Explore Ancient Greek Life

Students will discuss the geography, architecture, and government of Ancient Greece, and explore how these topics influence our world today.

By examining objects, discussing ideas, and creating their own design, students will strengthen their observation skills and cultural understanding while connecting Ancient Greece to maritime history and the modern world. Most of our virtual education programs are scheduled through ZOOM Cloud-based video conferencing. ZOOM is free to use and requires minimal equipment. Learning Objectives

  • Students will to locate ancient Greece on a map of the world.
  • Students will engage in career exploration by describing at least 2 maritime careers connected to the Mediterranean Sea.
  • Students will demonstrate cultural competence by identifying two ways in which Ancient Greek culture has influenced the world today.

Pricing:

Payment can be made before the program, or we can invoice following your program.

  • Programs at the Museum are $4.50 per student.
    All adults accompanying a field trip are free.
  • Programs at your location are $4.50 per student.
  • Virtual education programs are $125 per program.

Reservations are required for all programs and are booked on a first-come, first-served basis. Programs fill quickly in the fall and spring, so make your reservations a minimum of two weeks in advance.
